Rewiring of a home

Old or damaged wiring replaced in a room or the whole home.

Typical jobs

  • A socket that sparks or no longer works.
  • A breaker that keeps tripping.
  • New lights or fans in several rooms.
  • An old home whose wiring needs replacing.

What the inspection checks

  • The distribution board and the breakers in it.
  • The wiring you can see and any burnt marks or damage.
  • The sockets, switches and lights that are faulty.
  • What you want to run, so the wiring matches it.
  • Access, and any safety risks at the place.

After the visit you read an inspection report, then a quote with materials, delivery and labour as one total. You decide after you have seen both.

Questions people ask

All questions

A breaker keeps tripping. Can you find out why?

Yes. Choose household electrical and describe when it trips. The technician checks the board and the circuit at the inspection.

Is it safe to wait for the inspection?

If you see burn marks, smell burning or the fault is near water, switch off at the board if it is safe to reach and do not use that circuit. Do not touch anything burnt or wet.

Do you also do solar wiring?

Solar has its own category, with its own technicians. Choose solar if you want panels, an inverter or a battery.

Start with an inspection.

You see the inspection fee before you pay it, and it is taken off your quote if you go ahead. If you say no, nothing is charged.
